Restaurant Review: Typhoon

On May 10, Arman took us out to a unique restaurant called Typhoon to celebrate mother’s day. Arman had been to this restaurant twice and thought that it was quite unique and that Andrew and I should experience it. Two days before, we made the reservation online through Open Table, just to make sure that we would get seats. Even though Arman had recommended those food that he loved from this restaurant, but, I still did my research by going to Yelp. After looking at the foods pictures that people took at Typhoon, I told Arman that I wasn’t sure that I wanted to eat those kind of foods. Those foods shown on Yelp are made of variety of insects from crickets, ants, etc. Arman convinced me that they have other menus and that we are going to strictly order the non-insects ones.

Restaurant Review: Buddha’s Belly

When we took Arman’s parents to one of the Santa Monica’s shopping/tourist area, Promenade, we stopped by one of the nearby restaurant called Buddha’s Belly. I’ve passed by this restaurant couple times before and was intrigued to try. So we finally made it this time.

Restaurant Review: Sushi King

Yesterday, after the church mass, we were starving and decided to try out a new restaurant nearby the church. We passed by this restaurant called Sushi King on Wilshire Boulevard and saw there was a parking on the street/ So we parked and entered the restaurant. It is not a big restaurant, they have perhaps 6-7 tables and the sushi bar. When we got there, the restaurant was half full. We sat down and asked for a booster seat for Andrew but the one and the only one that they have was being used by one of the customers.

Restaurant Review: Gyu-Kaku

My friend, Rika, told me about this restaurant when we were back in Indonesia. Gyu-Kaku opened up a branch in Jakarta-Indonesia, inside Plaza Indonesia. She told me that the food is great and that I should try it. But somehow we never really get to try it. A few weeks ago, when we were on our way to Westside Pavillion, we passed by this restaurant and I told Arman that we should try it one day. So we did today after Andrew finished his music class.

Restaurant Review: Hop Li Seafood Restaurant

Today, after Church Mass at St. Augustine, we decided to try Hop Li Seafood Restaurant, which seems to be the most decent Chinese restaurant in our area. We arrived around 12.20pm and the parking lot was nearly full. Luckily, we got the last spot.

Restaurant Review: Fukui Sushi

Hello guys, I’m back. I haven’t been writing anything for a while because Andrew is sick. He had a fever and runny nose. Luckily the fever is gone now (it lasted one day) and he is getting over his runny nose. Hopefully, he will get back healthy soon.

Restaurant Review: Bubba Gump

This past Saturday, we finally took Andrew to Santa Monica Pier, after promising him few weeks back. As we arrived at the pier, it was nearly 12pm, so we thought it would be better to eat first. We chose Bubba Gump Restaurant. Ever since I was in San Francisco, I always wanted to try this restaurant, so now we finally did. We waited for nearly half an hour before we finally got a table. The table was perfect, it has the view of the beach. Very nice!!
