Restaurant Review: Typhoon

On May 10, Arman took us out to a unique restaurant called Typhoon to celebrate mother’s day. Arman had been to this restaurant twice and thought that it was quite unique and that Andrew and I should experience it. Two days before, we made the reservation online through Open Table, just to make sure that we would get seats. Even though Arman had recommended those food that he loved from this restaurant, but, I still did my research by going to Yelp. After looking at the foods pictures that people took at Typhoon, I told Arman that I wasn’t sure that I wanted to eat those kind of foods. Those foods shown on Yelp are made of variety of insects from crickets, ants, etc. Arman convinced me that they have other menus and that we are going to strictly order the non-insects ones.

Restaurant Review: Iron Grill

Last Saturday, we were thinking about having our dinner at Gyu-Kaku, unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked for birthdays. We then went a couple store away and decided to try this restaurant called Iron Grill.

Restaurant Review: Wurstkuche

Recently, I joined the LA Tasting Table’s mailing list where I get emails every now and then on the featured restaurants. One of the email that attracted us was the one that featured Wurstkuche, an exotic sausage grill restaurant in downtown LA. All the three of us, Arman, Andrew and myself love sausages, so we thought we should try this.

At the beginning of this year, when my best friend, Elsa, and her family came to visit us, we were took out to a dinner at this restaurant by her brother who resides in LA. I didn’t do a review back then.

Restaurant Review: Swanya Thai Cuisine

There was a new restaurant opened in Culver City, the name of the restaurant is Swanya. It was opened next to the Swanya Thai Massage, and judging from the name, I think they are both under the same owner or management. The restaurant wasn’t really big, just a moderate size. The menu was double sided and laminated. They have only 1 waitress who wasn’t too friendly.

Restaurant Review: Chan Dara

For our Anniversary this year, we didn’t have the chance to do our annual tradition of going away. So to celebrate, we decided to have a lunch at Chan Dara. Arman had tried this restaurant with his colleague before and thought it was pretty good.

Restaurant Review: Ramenya

Last Sunday, after church’s mass, we decided to try a new restaurant called Ramenya. Arman passes this restaurant a few times everyday on his way to work and back to home. He noticed that during lunch time, this restaurant looks mostly crowded and people would stand in line in front of the restaurant waiting for seats.

Restaurant Review: Hachi

After Andrew’s first class at Yamaha, we decided to have our lunch at Hara Sushi. But as we drove along Wilshire, I saw a new restaurant called Hachi on the other side of the street, with a Grand Opening banner in the front of the restaurant. So we turned back and parked our car in the parking garage and headed to the restaurant.

Restaurant Review: Manpuku

When we were in Indonesia, we would always spend our Chinese New Year night having my mom’s best homemade feast. She always cooks many mouth watering dishes and we would keep on putting them into our mouth until our tummy screams for stop.

Restaurant Review: Greenview Thai

Every once in a while, we would receive a take out/delivery menu inserted into our mailbox. One of them was from Greenview Thai. The pictures on the menu made us tempted to try this Thai restaurant.
