Kidney Bean Soup

Here is another type of soup that my mom used to cook for us. When I was in Indonesia, I made this every once in a while for Andrew and he likes it too. When he was 1 year old, I started giving him the bean minus the skin to avoid him from chocking. Now he can eat it with the skin all together.

Daikon Soup (Sop Lobak)

This is one of my favorite soup. My mom used to cook this when we were little. I then continue having this particular soup every once in a while.

Creamy Chicken Mushroom Soup

When we were staying at my sister’s place, she made the similar type of soup with the puff pastry cover (Zupa Zupa). Today, I am making only the soup and it tastes so yummy.

Bakmoy Mama Bunga

Here is another recipe from my mom-in-law. When I first tried this dish, I love it right away. And looks like, Andrew loves it too. So this is one of the recipes that I managed to get from her before we left Jakarta.

Macaroni Soup

I am sure most of you already know of this soup. If you don’t, here is the recipe, I learned it from my mom. When I was pregnant with Andrew, I love this soup so much that I can eat it for two days.

Green Mung Bean Soup

I bet most of you knew of the green mung bean as a sweet dessert, cook in a syrup water or brown sugar. This time I am going to make a Green Bean Soup (tastes salty) to be eaten with rice. My mom used to make this dish using the pork bones with little meat to get a little bit of sweet taste, but I am replacing it with regular pork meat in this recipe.

Stuffed Tofu (Bakso Tahu Isi)

When I was living in Jakarta, this is one of the dish that I love to make. I would used about 16 - 20 pieces of firm tofu, then make the rest as meatballs. You can also add some soy bean into the soup, but be sure to soak the bean over night and cook until tender. See my recipe below and picture above for instructions.

Chicken Noodle with Wonton (Mie Ayam Pangsit)

Every once in a while, my parents, especially my dad, likes to make the Chicken Noodle with Wonton. The noodle is also made from scratch. But here today, I will use ready fresh/dried noodle or rice stick, you can also use your favorite noodle (egg noodle, rice noodle, etc). See my recipe below:

Broccoli Chicken Balls Soup

Today, I made a mix of chopped broccoli with minced chicken for Andrew. I also added some glass noodle, knowing that he likes noodle. The result is he really likes it. Arman, who is not a big fan of vegetable, also likes this dish. You may try this for your young ones.

When I fed Andrew this dish for lunch today, I put the soup on a separate bowl. I hold on to the plate with rice, and let him moved the broccoli chicken balls using a spoon to the rice plate. As the broccoli chicken balls move one by one to the plate, I asked him to do the counting. So there it went, our fun lunch together with counting….one….two….three….four….five….six. Before you know it, all the food in the plate already went to his tummy. He finished everything in less than 15 minutes.

Shrimp Tofu Soup

Here is the other recipe using firm tofu and shrimp. My mom used to make this dish and I continue making it for Andrew. We both like this soup a lot.
