During my childhood, every once in a while (especially when we have guests coming from out of town or country), my mom would take us to a restaurant nearby our house that serves the traditional food from her hometown, Medan. The restaurant’s name is Medan Baru. At this restaurant, I remember one type of drink that they serve mainly using cucumber. The drink was very refreshing and I personally think good for sore throat. BOS Fresh Homemade Smoothies

30 08 2008

When I was back in SF years ago, I always love having smoothies from Jamba Juice every once in a while. I can have it for my lunch and ate nothing else. The one that I always ordered was the Razzmatazz, which is a combine of raspberry juice, banana, orange sherbet, strawberries and ice. I don’t like banana, so I always ordered one without banana.

Yesterday, I made one myself but replacing the orange sherbet with orange juice and since all the ingredients came right out of fridge, I decided not to use any ice. The taste is very much similar. Oh, I recently learned that strawberry contains not only vitamin C but also folic acid. This recipe is very simple and you don’t even have to add sugar to it. A great healthy drink for a hot summer day.

Crowded with a lot of stuff in it. Tips: You can always play around with the amount of milk and water, as long as you get the same total of amount. Read the rest of this entry »
