I was doing my weekly grocery with Andrew earlier today at nearby Albertson. As I was walking through each aisles, I would stop at the area where there is a special price sign. One of them was the Orajel Toodler toothpaste. Andrews uses this toothpaste and we regularly buy this every 3 months. So when I saw the special price sign in the rack where they placed this toothpaste, I immediately grabbed one and reminded myself that the price has gone down from $3.99 to the special price of $1.99. Inside the toothpaste box, there is a $0.55 coupon as well that can be used on this purchase.
I grabbed some other items through out the other aisles, double checking my grocery list making sure that I got them all. When I finished picking all items on my shopping list, I ended up with half full of shopping cart and ready to check out. As the cashier scanned through each items, I kept my eyes on the price screen and noticed that one the produce item that I bought was priced incorrectly. I told the cashier about it, she apologize, corrected the amount and scanned all the other manufacturer’s coupons that I have. When I finished paying all my groceries, I double checked my receipt and found that the Orajel toodler toothpaste that I bought earlier was priced at $3.99 instead of the special price of $1.99. I spoke with one of the guy who works there, he then went to the aisle where I got the Orajel and confirmed that I was right. He then took me to his manager who then apologize for the mistake and gave me a full refund of $3.99 + tax, which mean, I got the toothpaste for free.
Moral of the story, be really careful when you buy anything, especially when you do your big grocery. Remember the prices, especially the special prices and make sure that the cashiers charge you for the correct price. If they don’t, ask for the manager and make sure that you get what is right. Some places have certain policy, like Albertson, the manager told me since it is their mistake for not pricing the item correctly, the customer should get the item for free.

yup esther, di mana2, mesti check receipt, gw sering kedoublean di target, soalnya sensor mereka sensitif banget, suka kesensor 2kali tuh.

iya betul banget, gua so far dua kali kena price yg salah, pertama di Ranch 99 terus dibetulin tapi gak dikasih free
terus kedua yg di albertsons (now Lucky), beli excedrin botol gede lagi disale setengah harga, tapi dicharged full price di receiptnya, terus ngomong ke customer service, dikasih refund full price ($11.00 + tax, kira2 segitu) and dikasih excedrinnya free juga.. not bad!
aduh..gua suka susah ingetin harga lo esther, tp so far gua sih selalu berusaha mengingat2
kalo disini mah gak mungkin digratisin hihi.. yang ada berantem2 dulu ama kasirnya trus dijutekin ama yang antri di belakang karna kita lama..trus ujung2nya gua pasrah deh ama harganya
sama esther…disini juga gitu…di tulis special..tapi suka belom diganti programnya jadi pas di scan masih harga normal…
Dan biasa kalo mereka yg salah..kita dapet gratis juga…hehhehe….
Gw pernah salah scan harganya tapi ga digratisini, cuman dibetulin doank…hehehe…
haha, di Indo kayanya ga dikasi gratis deh, paling dibenerin doank, he he..
emang harus cross check dhe, tapi kalo di Indo belanja kaya di carrefour susah juga diplototin satu2 kalo dah belina banyak.. he he

@ Sakuralady: Iya lah kalo di Indo pasti ngga mungkin dikasih gratis deh. Makanya itu kalo belanja yang segabruk gitu musti ada extra memory yang bantuin kita ngingetin. Kalo ngga dikit2 akhirnya menjadi bukit.
Wah, kalo carrefour dikasi gratis, udah dapet lemari, susu, tissue, lampu philips.. sering bgt salah tuh, ini yg kl lagi sadar..Trus waktu itu di resto, kita pindah meja, orang yg sebelon kita makan cheesecake, kita kena bayar lagi, sayangnya w’tu itu ga dicekkk.. ini kejadian udah 5 taon yg lalu tapi masih terbayang2 trs.. @_@ dah gitu kecolongan di foodhall beli beras merah 35rb, dicharge 56rb buat sup tomat ?!? hikz.. Btw Esther thx for ur help, si tante katanya ntar mo pake ci enny buat make up keluarga.. ^^
In Michigan, if the scanner price does not match the sale price, the stores are required to give you twice your money back!! I always check receipts.
