Restaurant Review: MPV Seafood Restaurant

12 04 2008

After our Saturday evening church mass, we decided to go east to Alhambra area. This time we decided to try one of the most recommended Chinese restaurant called MPV Seafood restaurant. We don’t usually like driving this far for a meal, but since we are thinking about doing big grocery at 99 Ranch Market afterwards, we landed at MPV.

When we got there the restaurant was half full and it is a huge restaurant. They have big aquariums around the restaurant. There were two type of menus. One with all pictures and the other one mostly just writings. Most of the waiter/waitresses don’t speak English, it was even hard for me to ask them what is the most recommended menu. Luckily the manager who seems to speak better English came and helped us.

We ordered what was recommended by my friend, Heru. The Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup $ 9.95, Peking Duck $12.95 and Clam with Black Bean Sauce $10.95 (I forgot, this is just an estimate). They serve the sago hot dessert after we finished our meal. Total of all including tax and tips was $45.90. The Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup was really good and Andrew loves it. The Peking Duck was actually good if only they serve it hot. The Clam with Black Bean Sauce was just ok. The dessert wasn’t good at all. I personally didn’t like it.

I don’t think this is the place that I would want to go back and try other stuff. I will only go back for the Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup.
