Restaurant Review: Fukui Sushi
24 02 2008Hello guys, I’m back. I haven’t been writing anything for a while because Andrew is sick.
He had a fever and runny nose. Luckily the fever is gone now (it lasted one day) and he is getting over his runny nose. Hopefully, he will get back healthy soon.
I will be posting more recipes by this week as I promised. But let me give you some restaurant reviews first.
Last Saturday, after we did our grocery at nearby Albertson, we went to Fukui Sushi in the same neighborhood. We drove pass by this restaurant a few time and it was always crowded. We actually tried to get in 20 minutes before 12pm, but they weren’t opened yet.
We ordered their lunch special for $8.95 which you can order 2 items and it will be served with a miso soup. So I picked Fukui Udon (just a soup base with udon and a little bit of wakame) and 4 pieces of gyoza. The Udon was tiny and Andrew ate almost all of it. We ordered another item which was a chicken teriyaki bento box that comes with salad, miso soup, 2 pieces of california roll, vegetable tempura (2 tiny pieces of shrimp tempura, 3 pieces of yam tempura and 1 piece of edamame tempura). This bento box is priced for $12.50, which is very expensive compared to other Japanese restaurants. The chicken teriyaki was really good, I believe they may have used white egg when they cooked the chicken. We spent a total of $28 (including tax and tips).
The restaurant is not too big, they have some bar seats too. Too bad, there were only one waitress and she seemed to be overwhelmed serving 3 tables at a time. In fact, she accidentally forgot to give us our miso soup, but then apologized. Will probably come again if can’t find other good restaurant near Albertson.
